| You may be already sponsoring a child in a third world country - and that's great. But have you ever thought about sponsoring a student Pastor? |
| |
Here at Tehillah Ministries we have launched a new program which we call “Partner with a Pastor” – it’s more than just sponsoring someone in a far away place. We’d like you to become really involved with developing a strong, prayerful relationship with a Pastor, or Pastor’s wife, who is attending our course of studies over a three year period.
Tehillah Ministries currently has 70 students in Bougainville, Papua New Guinea doing our course which is based around a seven module program. Some students have completed up to Module 4 while others have just begun Module 1. There are many more Pastors and some other Church leaders on Bougainville who are waiting to begin the course but at the moment a lack of finance is prohibiting further development of our training program. That’s where we need your involvement. A local Pastor and his wife care for hundreds of people in isolated villages right across Bougainville. Sometimes they feel very alone, many times they need words of encouragement. If they knew that there was someone in another country praying for them specifically it would mean everything to them. If letters were to arrive from overseas from a Christian brother or sister expressing real love and concern for their situation it would make all the difference in the world. To know that someone is helping them to receive the training that they need, to equip them to do the Lord’s work more effectively, would move them to tears knowing that someone cared! It costs just $44 per month for Tehillah Ministries to provide the training for each student. Can you help us to provide this training? If you are willing to “Partner with a Pastor” you will receive a kit containing a photo of “your Pastor”, a profile telling you about him or her and a letter of instructions. You can put the photo on your fridge – or perhaps use it as a bookmark in your Bible. We would encourage you to write to your Pastor as often as you can. Letters do not have to be long but it is important to use simple English. Share prayer needs with your Pastor and words of encouragement. We would like to encourage you to build a personal relationship with your Pastor – in other words adopt your Pastor as part of your family. That’s how they will view you! Perhaps you are unable to partner with a Pastor personally but your Home Group or Church might be in a position to adopt a Pastor. Share this idea with them. Get excited about it – it’s a wonderful way to become part of the life of a Christian brother or sister in Bougainville. | Pastor's Profile
